Apple Cranberry Crisp

This Apple Cranberry Crisp is a favorite here at Fresh Picks and Shelly has mastered the recipe over the years - all by memory! Here's the basics to recreate her super simple fruit-focused dessert and feel free to make it your own by adding a pinch of your favorite spice, nuts or other ingredients that makes you smile!

  • Preheat

    Step 1

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F

  • Mix

    Step 2

    In a medium bowl, mix together the oats, brown sugar, flour, nutmeg and cinnamon. Stir in the melted butter and water to form a crumbly mixture.

  • Boil

    Step 3

    In a large saucepan, add fresh cranberries and water. Bring to a boil, and then remove from heat. Stir in the apples. Or, if you opt for dried cranberries, add them into the apple & water once boiling.

  • Spread

    Step 4

    Spread into 8x8 baking dish and crumble the oat mixture over the apples & cranberries.

  • Bake

    Step 5

    Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the apples are tender. Serve warm with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.


  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 ½ cups fresh cranberries or ¾ cup dried cranberrie
  • 5 apples of your choosing - peeled cored and sliced
