Katherine Anne Confections
Katherine first ventured into the world of artisan confections at the age of 10, when she would use cream from her family's Jersey cows to create soft, old-fashioned caramels on their small Wisconsin farm. "Katherine's Karamels" were sold at her Dad's office for 25 cents each, and quickly became a local favorite. Soon, her caramels and truffles were highly anticipated gifts every Christmas. In the fall of 2006, Katherine Anne Confections was launched in Chicago to rave reviews, and in 2012 Katherine opened her cafe in the Logan Square neighborhood at 2745 W Armitage. Today, you can find Katherine in her kitchen at the cafe, stirring caramel and rolling truffles just like she did at age 10, but with a lot more chocolate.
At Katherine Anne Confections we are committed to using fair trade cacao, and work with local farmers for our Jersey cream, Midwest fruits, honey, and seasonal ingredients. We don't use anything that your grandmother wouldn't: no artificial flavors and no corn syrup. Our truffles are lovingly rolled and dipped by hand. Here you'll find extra-delicious truffles of all sorts. Classic truffles include Lemon Poppyseed and Toasted Coconut Rum. Innovative and exciting flavors like Peanut Butter Coconut Curry or Goat Cheese Walnut offer a chance to taste something new. Our caramels are made with local wildflower honey and organic agave nectar instead of corn syrup. The result is floral, soft, and silky caramels that convert everyone into enthusiasts. Popular flavors include Rosemary Sea Salt, and Chocolate Walnut. Our pillowy soft marshmallows are made with local wildflower honey instead of corn syrup, and a touch of sea salt. They are perfect toasted for s'mores, melted in our incredible drinking chocolate, or right out of the bag!
