    Step 1

    Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Mix pear slices with cinnamon, brown sugar, salt, and nutmeg. Add lemon and orange zest and orange juice. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and 2 tablespoon water for your egg wash.

    Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the filling into your empanada spheres being careful not to overstuff them. Fold into a semi-circle and seal at the ends by pushing down with a fork. Brush with an egg wash. Bake until golden, about 15 minutes.
